Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following: other duties may be assigned
• Implement and lead the finance function within the business.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve accounting functions.
• Embrace, understand and proactively manage change.
• Develop processing, reconciliation and validation of transactions within the ledgers to ensure information accuracy.
• Management of credit control function, defining the process to maximize debt recovery and minimize collection periods.
• Scheduling and processing payments to suppliers to maintain relationships whilst maximizing internal cash position.
• Design, creation and publication of management reports to improve business performance.
• Assures that departmental and support personnel are focused on continuous improvement of services, products and processes.
• Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer and supplier needs and requirements throughout the company.
• Determine and set metrics KPI’s that drive value for the business and manage department by measuring performance against metrics.
• Support Management Team to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, including internal and external clients.
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
Experience using an ERP Accounting system – and a high proficiency with SAGE desirable.
Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the financial ledgers to include:
Sales, purchase, bank reconciliations, balance sheet recs, P&L variances, ensuring maximum accuracy and adhering to deadlines.
Will maximize accounts receivable and debt recovery through effective and efficient processes from point of sale to directing queries and receiving payments.
Proactive management of accounts payable and supplier finances due diligence.
Reporting and accounting as per statutory and legal requirements including HMRC taxation and VAT requirements and year end Audits.
Will support Project Managers for internal and external projects, procurement and supply chain functions to ensure projects are within budgetary all controls.
